Before we made our way to the Teddy Bear Museum, we bought some interesting Korean drinks. There were hits and misses and I wish Singapore had as great a variety of drinks as the Koreans had! Even more than the Taiwanese!

Check out famous characters and events in history now modelled by bears!
Actually, do you know why a toy bear is called a “teddy bear”? It is actually in honour of President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt. President Roosevelt was out on a bear-hunting trip in the woods sometime in November 1902. However, at the end of his trip, he still couldn’t hunt down a single bear. One of his staff members then caught a bear cub and leashed it to a tree for the President to shoot. The President refused saying this kind of behaviour was not showing sportsmanship. A cartoonist for the Washington Post, Clifford Berryman, draw a cartoon about the incident and drew the bear as one with round eyes and large ears. Someone called Rose Michton saw the carton and made a stuffed bear just like the one in the carton and asked the President permission to name it “teddy’s bear”. And that was how teddy bears were born!
Now, teddy bears being portrayed in art!
And some other toy bears we are familiar with…
