My ex-intern dropped by the office last week and asked me “Still blogging about Hong Kong ah? Already 2011, already Rabbit Year leh!” Hahha! Just 3 more posts ok so bear with me!
Before HK Disneyland, there was Ocean Park… I went to Hong Kong when I was in Primary 4 and actually visited Ocean Park before! There is a bit of an unforgettable experience that occurred so many years ago when I was there which I will provide more details later on…
Ocean Park is kind of a home-grown local amusement park so it is definitely not as “sophisticated” as Disneyland. We noticed too that for most of the amusement rides, there would only be one or two staff manning so the queues took very long to clear! But I must say that if they can survive for so long, they must be doing some things right. For one, they were very creative in creating a Halloween atmosphere in the park! Their Halloween night parties require a separate admission ticket and it seems those tickets were running out fast. Apparently there’s a ride where you lie down in a coffin and are brought through a route… sounds scary already right?
Chinese-styled Halloween!
Other than rides, they have various animal shows & exhibits that were quite enjoyable! And of course, the very popular Panda exhibit!
The exhibit was nicely air-conditioned and comfortable, just right for the pandas!
Oops… hee the pandas were kinda lazy to move around…
Okie… finally caught one in action…
So back to the unforgettable experience… basically there are two parts to the park, and they are connected via cable car. Long time ago, when I was still a timid girl, I got on the cable car and was so frightened I literally screamed my lungs out all the way from point to point… It’s still something that my family like to tease me about… chey! Now I am a fearless girl, ready to conquer any cable car, roller coaster, thrilling ride that’s out there! ;p
All smiles, enjoying the view and the breeze =)
See, the ride’s pretty steep!
We spent around half a day there… honestly worth a visit only if you have time… if not, I think you can give it a miss…
