Meals with Frens [Hong Kong]

One of the highlights of our trip in Hong Kong is meeting up with frens there, some of whom I haven’t seen in 10 over years! Isn’t it heart-warming that when you meet up with frens you haven’t seen for years, it still feels like the good old days?

Met up with Kristin and later her hubby Colin at a small little café at Harbour City. I think we sat there chatting for 3 over hours! Such a good catch up and we got lots of good recommendations on places to visit and eat too!

Off we went for dinner with my uni frens, Jane, Sze Sze and Angel! They were exchange students at SMU and it was a blessing to be able to get to know them then! We had dinner at this contemporary Italian restaurant called SML at Causeway Bay Times Square. They serve food in portions of small, medium and large based on your preference. The food is really fresh and tasty and the concept really great for those who want to sample a lot of food at smaller portions! Had so much time chatting and mostly laughing at Jane’s English and blur-ness! Then we adjourned for desserts at Honeymoon Desserts which have outlets in Singapore now! Spending time with them reminds me of my uni days, so carefree and relaxed!

I actually went to dig out some of the old pics we took way back in 2004!

Last but not least, we had dinner with Fred, my dearest fren who knew me from my secondary school days! Just imagine! When I was in my navy blue pinafore with specs and looking all nerdy! Heh!

The usual foodie that he is, he made reservations at Spring Deer, a famous Beijing restaurant that requires reservations at least one week in advance! Wow! But he ordered all the famous dishes like Peking Duck and Chicken & Shark’s Fins in Casserole! When I was drinking the soup, I was wondering why the sea cucumber was so thick. Only later did I realize they were thick slices of shark’s fins!! That was how thick they were! Such an awesome time reminiscing the past and his wife, Louise, even clearly remembered the places we brought her when she came to Singapore the last time!

Love you all and I will visit you guys soon!
