Che’s Cantonese Restaurant [Hong Kong]

Now for some dim sum that did WOW us! We were getting rave reviews about this place from Edunloaded and were real excited to try out the food! So off to Che’s Cantonese Restaurant at Wan Chai we went!

Wan Chai is a business district so not surprisingly, we saw more formally dressed working adults having lunch there. Kris told me she had several office lunches there too.

Here are the dishes we sampled:

Fried Onion Pancake – fragrant and crisp, but found it a bit too thin

Salted Egg Custard Buns – outward appearances are deceptive! The plain looking buns break open to reveal such a sweet salty mix of gooey goodness!

Congee – very smooth!

Specialty Alert!! Crispy Barbecue Pork Buns! For a moment, we were panicking cos we couldn’t find the polo buns on the menu! Well, they were definitely a unique twist to the usual polo buns we were used to. The outer shell was crispy and crunchy and once you bite into it, the taste of the savoury char siew hits you! Yums!

Glutinous rice! Packed with goodness! Scallops, abalone, juicy meat!

All in all, a very satisfying meal which came at a price of course! Came up to around S$25 a person for us!
