Highlights of 2007
After reading the blog entry by Edmund Tay and his year in review, think it is time I recapped some of the highlights of 2007 before the clock stuck twelve.
* First big event of the year was my sister's wedding on 1st May! It not only made the news in the whole extended family as the event of the year, but it also made the news literally! I believe the first part of the year was a trying time for my sis, as she struggled to adapt to her new job and also preparations for her wedding. For that, Nis, I salute you! Personally, I wondered how I would deal with my dearest sister leaving home and starting a new life but I think I was well-prepared for it and maybe, I couldn't wait to have the whole house to myself! Hee!
* Then, Joe proposed to me on his birthday, 20th May! He was really sweet, he composed a song and arranged a surprise for me at the Love Sculpture at Park Mall. It was at this same spot that we first celebrated our 'attachment'. Then, wedding celebrations went into full swing, finding a restaurant, bridal studio, house...
* In August, I was informed that I was one of the finalists of the eBay-Home & Decor contest. For that, I would be given $3500 to revamp a room of my choice, my sister's study at her new place. It was an intense two months or so sourcing furnishings online, hoping to get the best bargains and putting everything together. The photo shoot at my sister's place was fun and gave me an insight of the world of decor magazines!
* Around late August, Joe and me put in the deposit for our very own place, also at Hougang! We are very very happy with the place we bought and it's very spacious and worth every cent!
* Around then, our Aljunied Crescent home was also sold and we got ourselves ready for the family's big move to Rio Vista at Hougang in November.
*
Was given many opportunities to learn new things on the job. My biggest achievement would be executing the Heart-to-Heart campaign visuals for the Bank's branches. It was my first time experiencing a commercial photo shoot and it was really fun! I never knew so much background work went into the advertisements we see everyday. And at my very first go, it was six different shoots over a span of three days! And of course, the opportunity to work on large format ads for the North-East line. Am really thankful for the opportunities and hoping for more exciting projects in the year to come!
HAPPY NEW YEAR ONE AND ALL! To end off, read the following sms I'm sure some of you received:
A new year
A new start
A new chapter
A new beginning
Forget the old
Cherish the new
